The arranged fiancé, on the other hand, is controlling from the start, and once Nari breaks the engagement, he becomes a genuine threat. His clan’s secrets—dark magic, fallow magic, and even hybrid creatures created through illicit breeding—add a sinister layer to the political tension. The danger is real, but never graphic.
